My Baby’s Adorable Bottom

April 26th, 2008

Katya has been doing LOTS of new things: opening drawers and cabinets, standing without holding anything (for a moment), excited head shaking, waving, splashing with her hands and feet, actually falling asleep at bedtime, turning on and off the lights, watching the toilet flush, lifting book flaps, pulling her shirt off over her head at jammy time, crawling/pulling herself 1 or 2 “steps,” etc etc. She discovered ice and went in a kiddy pool for the first time today, too.

Diaper failure! This is why she now has to wear bloomers over diapers. My baby LOVES velcro.

Watching the tub fill for her nighttime bath.

The Critters Have Seized Control of the Asylum

April 9th, 2008

Same critter, after the grooming trauma:

My baby, she loves her drawstrings.

Today was a very special day. Katya played the xylephone for the first time! With the mallet! Previously she just chewed on it.

Baby’s First Computer

April 1st, 2008

katya-10-mos-005.JPGI I know, I know, seriously, I think that people who think that babies need computers are what we now refer to around here as “tushyholes.” But Bill and his business partner Scott bought a couple of these kid laptops as part of a deal where 1 is donated to a developing country for every 1 you buy. My only regret is that it didn’t come with the hand crank option.

Other exciting news: I can now eat chocolate! Certain kinds of dairy-free chocolate, pretty much only available at Trader Joes, but amazingly yummy chocolate nonetheless!
