“Does Santa Claus ever die, or what?”

After watching an “opera” performed by people in costumes on Mister Rogers twice, in which a little cat girl asks the moon for a star for her birthday, and he says yes, but she changes her mind when it becomes apparent that the star is distraught about being taken from her home:
“Back then in the old days people could own people because slavery was allowed.”
